POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineering Specialist with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years supporting or working on unmanned crafts or autonomy programs. The candidate will design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems and components for the USV, including engines, propulsion systems, ventilation systems, and auxiliary machinery.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years supporting or working on unmanned crafts or autonomy programs
- Experience with US Navy or government programs is preferred
SKILLS
- Expertise in designing and developing mechanical systems for marine applications
- Ability to perform detailed mechanical calculations and feasibility studies
- Proficiency in CAD software for creating mechanical designs and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to recommend effective solutions
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies in marine engineering
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems and components for the USV, such as engines, propulsion systems, ventilation systems, and auxiliary machinery
- Collaborate with naval architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure the integration and optimization of mechanical systems
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform calculations to support design decisions
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed mechanical designs and specifications
- Conduct performance analyses and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and safety of marine mechanical systems
- Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies
