The Project Subcontract Manager monitors and ensures subcontractors meet performance, schedules, and deliverables in accordance with specified objectives and contractual obligations.
- Direct and integrate subcontract efforts into construction plans.
- Develop and maintain construction plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Ensure availability of materials and labor resources.
- Conduct labor estimates and maintain manpower schedules.
- Coordinate subcontract activities with ship management to meet quality standards.
- Coordinates subcontract efforts as it relates to the production function which includes schedule coordination, subcontract progressing, change order management and all associated integration within core construction, administration, and management.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for production involvement.
- Coordinates and schedules all aspects of assigned projects among the various disciplines such as engineering, procurement, production, supply chain, etc.
- Develops mitigation solutions to ensure total construction effort is maintained according to plan.
- Addresses daily personnel, equipment, and facility issues in addition to developing viable solutions and remedial actions.
- Minimum of 8 years in shipbuilding/manufacturing or five years in both shipbuilding and marine outfitting, propulsion, and auxiliaries.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Intermediate understanding of USCG and regulatory requirements, and craft-specific processes.
- Experienced in resource planning and scheduling.
- Capable of multi-tasking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine).
